I had a vague idea of how tedious the process of buying a home would be, but when I explored the real estate market and faced the reality , it was overwhelming. The kind effort required to filter out between the available options had started to take a toll on my mental health. But a big “THANK YOU !!” to Mandeep (and team Basra) who assisted us in buying our first home here in Ottawa. From the start Mandeep clearly explained us the process by breaking it down to our level of understanding. He explicitly highlighted the do’s and don’ts that we should keep in mind when selecting between choices. As we went through multiple open-houses and private showings with him, he was able to correctly gauge our requirements and personal likings that we sought in a house. Many times, he pointed out flaws in our choices and was not hesitant to mention it to us. This is the best part I liked about Mandeep’s style of working, that he is willing to mention the truth even if was against his client’s wishes. He believes in not buying at all rather than buying a wrong choice of house. We had a tough time with one of the house options where there was an arson incident after our offer was accepted, but Mandeep stood by us clearly steering us away from falling into such a pit hole. He understood the trauma that we were going through and encouraged us to start looking over again and not take this as a setback. “Trust” is something very hard to find these days and least of all in the real estate market. But I am glad I was able have a realtor like Mandeep, who with his honest and professional behaviour has gained my complete trust during this process. Buying my first home in a new country was a huge deal, a pretty daunting investment. Finding someone reliable I could truly trust, someone who actually had my back through the whole process, felt like a massive challenge. It was also tough to find a realtor who really got my needs and how I felt about a property. But when I talked to Mandeep, I felt comfortable. I knew he understood what I wanted and why. Since it was a new build, this wasn't a quick thing, it was a year-long process! Mandeep was consistently there, guiding me from the initial model home viewing and deposit, through the selection and finalization of upgrades, right to the final handover of the keys. He walked me through how appliances worked and gave me tips on keeping the house maintained when I settled in. He didn't hesitate to put in the time for this long haul. He didn't just help me professionally, he did some little extra things my dad or brother would have done for me if they were here. Since I didn't have easy ways to get around the city yet, he'd pick me up for appointments with the builder and drop me off. He found me all sorts of other contacts I needed related to the house, and I never felt pressured to use them. If I wasn't comfortable with his provided contact, he'd just find other options for me. Over the year, working together, I almost forgot that he was my realtor, not a family member. Dealing with a new build always has its stresses, but Mandeep provided amazing help by gathering the right information about the property. Now that I've moved into my house, it's surprising to know that some of my neighbors are unfamiliar with the things I am aware of. I feel good that nothing was hidden from me before I booked the house and I made an informed decision, and thanks to Mandeep. He even helped with the lawyer and mortgage stuff. His expertise, his knowledge, and most importantly, just how he conducted himself, made me trust him naturally. I am glad I did. He is definitely my go-to person for any future investments.
