We started thinking to purchase a home a while back, but only got serious towards the end of the past summer. We started looking for homes, but could not find anything in our price range that would tick all the boxes. We finally found the perfect home and proceeded to put an offer, with a condition of financing. 24 hours passed with no response from the sellers. We were baffled, but figured since we offered less than the asking price, they were not happy with our price. Another week later, we went back with another offer, this time offering slightly more than the asking price and with no conditions. We were stunned when, 24 hours later, we received no reply from the sellers, not even a counter-offer asking for more money. We gave up on the home and started the search anew. Same thing happened, we could not find anything in our price range that would met our requirements. We were super happy when our realtor, Marius, called us two and half weeks later, and told us that our sellers were ready to accept an offer well below their initial price expectations. We put in a third offer, which was accepted the same evening. After a few more weeks of renovations, we moved into the home of our dreams thanks to Marius’ outstanding negotiating skills!
