In 2025, my wife and I decided to move back to our hometown of Cornwall to be closer to family and friends—especially so our four-year-old could grow up nearer to his grandparents. With a goal of being settled before he started school in the fall, we jumped into our search and quickly found a home we were excited to see. That’s when we reached out to our friend Diego, who—while travelling—introduced us to his protégé, Alex. Alex wasted no time, reaching out immediately and arranging a viewing for the very next weekend. Although our first pick wasn’t the one, over the following month Alex showed us a wide range of homes across different neighbourhoods, every weekend, until we finally found the right fit. Being available is part of a realtor’s job, but Alex’s willingness to consistently give up his weekends truly stood out and was greatly appreciated. Throughout the buying process, Alex was patient, accommodating, and incredibly knowledgeable. He offered thoughtful insights and strong, well-reasoned opinions that helped us feel confident in every decision. He and his partner Angelina were also wonderful with our toddler, keeping him happily occupied while we viewed homes. Alex carefully walked us through all the paperwork and requirements, ensuring the process went smoothly from start to finish. Once our purchase was lined up, we turned our attention to selling our home in Kanata—and once again, Alex delivered. He made the long drive to tour our place, offering excellent suggestions to prepare it for sale, and connected us with a fantastic staging company in Ottawa. After a month of painting, pruning, and tidying, our home was ready. By pure luck, our ornamental crabtree was in full bloom, and Alex arranged to return to photograph the house at exactly the right moment. He captured beautiful photos, drone shots, and a full walkthrough video—all in one day. An open house was planned, but we had an offer before Sunday. While we didn’t quite get the price we’d hoped for on our new home, we received full asking price for our Kanata property—and we were thrilled. Working with Alex, Diego, and everyone involved was an absolute pleasure. We’re so grateful for the introduction and couldn’t be happier to be settled back in Cornwall. Everything truly fell into place.
