My leap of faith, moving from Vancouver to Edmonton was made possible and seamless because of Stephen Lau and his partner, Faye Ren. Stephen guided me through the process of culling over 200 MLS home listings, and when I flew to Edmonton, Faye drove around the neighbourhoods to show me a range of about 20 properties. Faye was patient , organised and pointed out the nuance of each home and neighbourhood. She highlighted details of the properties, surroundings, roads, facilities, traffic flows and even walls! Faye possesses the craft knowledge of a realtor, and cares deeply for the well being of her clients. She listened, understood my needs and even foresaw potential challenges of long staircases as I approach my senior years. In a condensed 2 to 3 afternoons of time spent with Faye, I gained clarity of what is a home for me in Edmonton. Stephen followed up with insights on timing and pacing, crucial in the challenging housing markets of Vancouver and Edmonton. Consequently, I sold my Vancouver condo during a historic sluggish market and bought an Edmonton home in a park-like neighbourhood when properties were pending/selling in a matter of days. Stephen also ensured that I have the expertise of a reliable home inspector as I made my final decision; both of them continued with their follow ups as I settle in a new home and city. He carefully listened to my needs, used a city map to explain different neighborhoods, and helped me find the homes that really suited my situation.
