We were introduced to Stephen Lau by my brother, who had previously sold his home with Stephen and spoke very highly of the experience. From our first meeting, it was clear why—Stephen was organized, thorough, and very clear about the process from start to finish. One of his key recommendations was to complete a home inspection before listing. This allowed us to address any issues in advance, which ultimately prevented re-negotiations after the buyer conducted their own inspection. Knowing everything had already been taken care of gave us a lot of confidence and made the entire process much smoother. Stephen also arranged for an independent appraisal to ensure the home was accurately priced. Having a third-party valuation not only reassured us, but also added credibility from a financing standpoint for buyers and their lenders. At Stephen’s recommendation, we worked with a professional stager, which helped transform our space into a near showroom-calibre presentation. In addition, Stephen personally brought in his own staging props, including beautiful ambient lighting fixtures, and installed speakers throughout the house to play soft, ambient music. Buyers walking into the home were greeted by a thoughtfully presented space that truly appealed to all the senses. Throughout the sale, Stephen was professional, strategic, and extremely detail-oriented. We felt well guided at every step and confident in the decisions being made. I was referred to Stephen Lau by my family. Both my mom and my brother had worked with him before and had great results, so when it came time to sell my home for the first time, I already had a lot of trust going in. That said, this was my first sale, and it was really important to me that I felt confident in both the Realtor and the process. Stephen didn’t just meet my expectations—he completely exceeded them. He walked me through his approach right away and showed examples of promotional videos from homes he had sold. He strongly recommended working with a professional stager to improve how the house showed, which turned out to be a great call. He also brought in a flooring professional to fix carpets that had shifted and developed some pretty noticeable wrinkles. Those small details made a big difference. What really stood out was how much effort Stephen put into presentation. He brought in a whole setup of ambient lighting and high-end Sonos speakers to create an amazing mood when buyers walked through the home. The lights and music instantly made the place feel warm and inviting—and it wasn’t something we had seen other Realtors doing. I knew Stephen Lau from our university days over 18 years ago, so when my parents were struggling to sell their home after more than 250 days on the market with two different Realtors, I decided to reconnect with him.
